Ethan Matthews – Artistic Director
Ethan is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of The BE Company, a Professor of acting at CUNY Laguardia and The Studio New Canaan, a delegate for the United States in international artistic and cultural exchange and a professional actor, director and producer. Acting: The Be Company, Studio 42, The Mint Theatre, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Broadway National Tour with Joan Collins and Linda Evans, HBO Sports, Film Gym, and other theatre and film projects. Director: Artistic New Directions, Ginwood Films, TVI, The BE Company, Bender, Productions etc. Internationally, Ethan has presented work in England, France, Greece, Italy, China and will be fielding invites to Belarus, the Phillipines, Azerbaijan and Cuba in the coming year. Most recently, he attended the 33rd World Congress of Theatre in Xiamen, China with ITI UNESCO where he now sits on the Board of TECOM (the Theatre Education and Training Committee) and is a corresponding member of CIDC (the Cultural Identity and Diversity Committee.) His research paper The Importance of Social and Cultural Factors in Actor Education was recently published in the text book Acting in University Theatre and his article They Say the Neon Lights are Bright... was published with Voices of Tomorrow.
